Spiritual Champions
“O God… I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you…” - Psalm 63:1 (NLT), “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” - Matthew 6:33 (NIV)
Can you think of someone you would call a spiritual champion? Someone who makes you say, “I’d love for God to use me like that.”
What we often see is the fruit, but not the formation. Like elite athletes who train in hidden places, spiritual champions are built in the secret place too.
David’s heart cry in Psalm 63:1 shows the pursuit behind the public power. The thirst and the longing. The consistency of seeking God daily. Not out of obligation, but from desire. This is the foundation of a life that bears fruit. And Jesus echoes this invitation in Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the Kingdom.” Not comfort. Not control or acclaim. He’s calling us to realign our mornings, our calendars, our goals, and our hearts with what truly matters eternally.

A Word for You Today
What God wants to do through you will always begin with what He’s doing in you.
— If you want to bear much fruit, dig your roots deep.
— If you want to live with purpose, begin each day in His presence.
— And if you want to influence others, let Him first transform you.
Prayer
Lord, I want to be used by You, but not before I’m transformed by You. Help me not to chase results before I've submitted to the process. Teach me to rise early, to seek You in the quiet, and to surrender to Your training. Make me fruitful not because I’m strong, but because I’m surrendered. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
