Faith grows where Christ is spoken

So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ. (Romans 10:17, NLT)

Break It Down

Paul gives us something both profound and beautifully simple. Faith does not begin with striving harder, understanding more, or proving ourselves worthy. Faith comes from hearing — not self-effort, but reception.

God’s Intention

God’s intention has never been that faith would be reserved for the strong or spiritually elite. Faith grows where Christ is spoken, remembered, and received.

Weave in the Passage

Hearing here is not passive. It is listening with the heart. We don’t move beyond the Gospel — we return to it, again and again.

Application for Today

You don’t have to manufacture faith. Make room to hear Christ today — through Scripture, prayer, and quiet attentiveness.

Prayer

Jesus, thank You that faith is a gift. Help me quiet the noise and hear You again. Amen.

Reflection

Where in your life might God be inviting you to listen more deeply?
