The Lord Himself Will Give You The Sign
Let’s Go Deeper — Isaiah 7:14
“All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign…” — Isaiah 7:14 (NLT)
“Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).”
Break It Down
• “The Lord himself will give you the sign” — God initiates the promise.
• “A virgin will conceive” — A miracle no human could orchestrate.
• “She will give birth to a son” — God entering real human history.
• “Immanuel” — More than a name; it reveals God’s heart: He is with us.
• Spoken over 700 years before Jesus’ birth, this prophecy carries divine intention unfolding across centuries.
God’s Intention
God’s desire has always been relationship. Long before Bethlehem, God declared His plan to come close again.
“Immanuel” tells us:
• God refuses distance.
• God is not far or silent.
• He would not merely send a message — He would come Himself.
Weave in the Passage
Isaiah spoke this into fear and uncertainty. Israel needed reassurance that God had not abandoned them. God responded with a sign pointing beyond their moment to the coming Messiah.
700+ years later:
• The virgin did conceive.
• A son was born.
• And through Him, the world saw God’s nearness in human form.
Immanuel reveals God’s nature:
He comes close. He dwells with us. He enters our world to redeem it from the inside out.

Application for Today
Immanuel means you never walk alone.
Ask yourself:

Let this prophecy steady your heart: The God who promised His presence keeps His presence.
Prayer
Lord, thank You that You are Immanuel — the God who is with us.
Thank You that Your nearness is not dependent on circumstances but on Your promise.
Help me live today aware of Your presence, trusting Your guidance and Your love.
Amen.
