His Arm Revealed

Phase 3 - Grace as the means

God comes to rescue what we could never restore, and calls us to respond

Passage: Isaiah 52:1–12

“The Lord has demonstrated His holy power before the eyes of all the nations. All the ends of the earth will see the victory of our God.” Isaiah 52:10 (NLT)

Reflection

“Wake up, wake up…” This call comes again. But this time, it is different. Before, the cry was for God to act. But now, the call is for His people to rise.

“Shake off your dust… rise up… sit enthroned…” This is not just some movement, it is identity being restored. You are not where you were meant to remain. You are not what your circumstances have made you.

And then God speaks clearly, “You were not sold for a price, and you will be redeemed without money.”

There is no transaction here. No debt to be repaid. No creditor to satisfy. God does not need to buy you back. He simply comes for you.

Why? “So My people will know My name.” Not just know about Him. Know Him. By experience, encounter, rescue and relationship. Because this is personal.

And then Isaiah’s message shifts. A voice rises, “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news…” Good news. Not some advice or instruction. Not a system to follow.

A declaration “Your God reigns.” And what is that good news? Not that we have found our way back. It is that God is coming to us.

“They see the Lord returning to Zion.” This is the turning point. We do not climb our way to Him. He came down to us.

We are not strong enough or able to break the siege. We are not able to free ourselves. So God rolls up His sleeve.

“The Lord has bared His holy arm…” This is power revealed. Active, visible and decisive. And not just for a few.

“All the ends of the earth will see…” This is bigger than Israel. This is for the world.

And yet, this is not passive. “Leave… go out… touch no unclean thing…” God comes, but we must respond. He rescues, but we must step out. Salvation is initiated by God, but it must be received.

And as we step out, we are not alone. “The Lord will go before you, the God of Israel will be your rear guard.”

He leads. He protects. He surrounds us. From beginning to end. This is what salvation looks like. God comes, He acts, and He reveals His power. And we are to respond.

Prayer

Father God,

Thank You that You do not leave me where I am. Thank You that You call me to rise, not in my own strength, but because You are restoring who I am in You.

Thank You that I was not abandoned, not sold or forgotten. That You come for me, not because I can earn it, but because of who You are. Help me to know Your name, not just in words, but in experience.

Jesus, thank You that You came down into our world, that You did what I could never do, and that Your power is not distant, but personal.

Help me to respond. To leave what I need to leave, to follow where You are leading, and to trust that You go before me and behind me.

Thank You that Your arm is not shortened, that Your salvation is real, and that You are at work even now.

In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
