The Freedom to Walk With Him Again
"You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love." Galatians 5:13 (NIV)
From Bondage to Belonging
God never intended for us to be slaves to sin, to fear, or to be under pressure to earn His love.
From the very beginning, His desire was for relationship with us. A garden. A daily walk with humanity. A beautiful conversation in the cool of the day. That is the freedom we’ve been called into. In Jesus, the door to the garden is open to us once again. He broke the curse and paid the price to bring us home.
True Freedom Is Found in Fellowship
We often think of freedom as doing whatever we want, but the Bible shows us a different kind of freedom. True freedom comes from becoming who we were created to be.
· Children walking intimately with their heavenly Father
· Hearts unburdened by shame or striving
· Lives poured out in love, not consumed by self-indulgence
This verse in Galatians reminds us not to settle for a cheap form of freedom, a freedom that feeds the flesh but starves the soul. Don’t run back to the “flesh,” which only isolates and enslaves.
Instead, embrace the freedom that draws you into relationship, with Father God, the Creator of the universe, and with each other, as fellow image-bearers of His love.
We Get to Choose
Just like Adam and Eve once chose; we also get to choose:
· To walk with God, or to hide.
· To serve in love, or strive in self.
· To surrender to His Spirit, or to satisfy the flesh.
The invitation is open: Come, walk with Me in the garden. The veil is torn. You are free to come home.
Just turn toward home.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for calling me to freedom. Not a freedom of the flesh, but a freedom to walk again with You. I choose to walk in Your presence. To serve in love. To live like someone who has been brought back to the garden. Teach me to delight in You, and to use this freedom to reflect Your heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
